Playbook · after a storm

Fifty roofs in five days

After a storm, the first written quote usually wins. This playbook is for the week the phone does not stop: send from the driveway, let one text and one call carry each quote, and switch back when the rush ends.

Shingle samples and a measuring wheel on a tailgate in front of a house with a worn roof.

Use it when.

  • A storm just came through and estimates are piling up faster than the office can type them.
  • Insurance is involved and an adjuster needs to see the same copy as the homeowner.
  • Every competitor in the county is quoting the same streets.

The cadence, word for word.

Storm week · merged here for quote 001044

  1. Day 1Text · 9:00
Hi Denise, it's Dev from Pellwick Electric. Your roof quote is ready, with the photos from this morning: q.carbonset.example/1044

Day 1, not day 2: in storm week a day is a long time.

  2. Day 3Call task · 9:00
Call Denise. Ask whether the adjuster has seen it, and offer to add them to the quote.

A call before anything else goes out, to ask about the adjuster.

  3. Day 7Email · 7:30
Subject: What tear-off day looks like Hi Denise, A few people asked what happens on the day, so here it is: the crew arrives at 7:00, the old roof is off by noon, and the new one is on and cleaned up by evening. Your quote: q.carbonset.example/1044 Dev Pellwick Electric

What happens on tear-off day: the question that holds most people up.

What not to do.

  • Do not leave quotes in the truck until the weekend. Send each one before you leave the driveway, photos attached.
  • Do not keep the storm cadence running in October. Switch back to Residential replacement when the calls slow down.
  • Do not text an adjuster. Add them as a view-only contact and let them open the same link.

Trades that use it.

Load this cadence and change the words.

It's in every account as "Residential replacement". Open it, change anything, and it runs on your next quote.
