What Carbonset collects, why, who handles it for us, and how to get it back or have it deleted. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

Clauses

1 Who we are

Carbonset, Inc. makes quote follow-up software for trade businesses. We are based at 38-14 Docket Street, Long Island City, NY 11101. In this policy, "you" means the business that holds a Carbonset account and the people on its team. "Your customers" means the people you send quotes to. We act for you when we handle their details.

2 What we collect

Your account: company name, team members, logins and billing details. The customer data you put in: names, phone numbers, emails, job site towns, quotes, signatures and messages. Usage: which pages load, when a quote link is opened and on what kind of device. Payment records the processor returns to us, such as the last four digits of a card and the receipt. We never receive full card numbers.

3 Why we use it

To run the service you signed up for: sending quotes, scheduling follow-up, recording signatures and deposits, and handing paid jobs to your accounting software. To answer support calls and fix problems. To bill you. We look at usage in aggregate to decide what to build next. We do not use your customers' details to market anything to them, and we do not run ads.

4 Texting and email on your behalf

You are responsible for having your customers' permission to contact them about the job they asked you to quote. Every first text on a quote says how to opt out. When anyone replies STOP, texts from your company stop on every quote, right away, and we keep a record of the opt-out. Emails carry an unsubscribe link that works the same way.

5 Who we share it with

Only with the companies that help us run the service: hosting and database, email delivery, the texting gateway, the payments processor, error monitoring and our support desk. Each handles only what its job needs and is bound by a written agreement. The security page lists them by category. We name each company on request and never sell or rent data to anyone.

6 How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open, and for 30 days after you close it so you can still export. After that we delete it from the live system. Backups age out on their own within a further 30 days. Records we must keep by law, such as invoices for your subscription, stay for the period the law requires.

7 Your choices

Owners can export every customer, quote and event as CSV at any time from Settings. You can correct anything in your account directly. To delete a single customer's details, open the customer and choose Delete, or ask us. Your customers can ask you, or write to us and we will pass the request to you within one business day.

8 Children

Carbonset is a business tool for adults who run or work in trade offices. Accounts are not for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information about children. If you believe a child's details reached us, write to privacy@carbonset.example and we will delete them.

9 Changes

When we change this policy in a way that matters, we email account owners 30 days before the change takes effect and note it in the changelog. Small fixes, like a typo or a clearer sentence, take effect when posted. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version.

10 Contact

Questions about privacy, or a request about your data or a customer's, go to privacy@carbonset.example. A person reads every message and replies within one business day. You can also call support at (718) 555-0148, Monday to Friday from 7:00, and ask for the privacy desk.
