Quote follow-up software for trades and shops

We ran the office. Then we wrote the software.

Carbonset is fourteen people in Long Island City. Two of our three founders spent eleven years, between them, in a mechanical contractor's office.

A spreadsheet tab called FOLLOW UP.

Carbonset started in 2024 in a back office in Maspeth. Two of us had spent eleven years, between us, running the office at a mechanical contractor: answering the phones, booking no-heat calls, and keeping a spreadsheet tab called FOLLOW UP that nobody had time to open. The third had written dispatch software for a freight company. We kept watching good shops lose jobs to whoever called back first. So we built the follow-up we never had time to do. In 2025 we moved to Long Island City, upstairs from a tile distributor, and we still answer the phone at 7:00.

Deposits, the accounting handoff, the field app. Fourteen people.

How we work.

  1. We answer the phone. Support starts at 7:00 because your day does.
  2. We ship on Tuesdays. Small releases, written up in the changelog the same day.
  3. Every hire rides along. Two days in a truck or a shop office in the first month.
  4. We sell seats, not data. No ads, no selling lists, no partners.
  5. We say what it doesn't do. If Carbonset can't do something, the docs say so near the top.
