Send your first quote in ten minutes

Updated 2026-09-14 · 4 min read · Applies to: Single, Duplicate, Triplicate

Company details, three price book items, one quote sent to yourself, and a cadence to follow it up.

On this page

This is the setup we walk through on the phone with every new shop. Do it with one real job in mind, and send the first quote to yourself before a customer ever sees one.

1. Add your company details

Open Settings and fill in Company. Your logo, license number, phone and terms print at the top and bottom of every quote, so this is the part customers judge you on. Keep the terms short: deposit, balance, how long the price holds, warranty. Five lines is plenty.

Office note

Upload the logo you put on the truck, not the one on your letterhead from 2011. A square file works best on phones.

2. Add three price book items

You do not need the whole price book today. Add the three things you quote most: a name, a unit and a price. Cost is optional and never shows to the customer. When you are ready for the rest, import it from a spreadsheet.

3. Build a quote

  1. Add the customer: name, phone, email and the town of the job site.
  2. Pick lines from the price book, or type a custom line.
  3. Add options if the customer has a real choice to make. One option is fine.
  4. Set the deposit. The default is 30% of the option they pick.

4. Send it to yourself first

Put your own phone number and email on the quote and press Send. Open the text on your phone the way a customer would. Within a few seconds the quote moves from Sent to Opened on the board, with the device and the time. That is the whole idea, and it is worth seeing once from both sides.

Check the customer copy for anything that reads wrong on a small screen: long line names, a missing license number, terms that wrap into a wall of text. Fix them in Settings, then send it to yourself again.

5. Pick a cadence

A cadence is the follow-up you would do yourself if you had the time. Start with Residential replacement: a text on day 2, an email on day 5 and a call task on day 9. It stops the minute the customer signs, replies or says no. Change the days later, once you see which step gets answers.

Watch out

Texts wait until your texting number is registered with the carriers, which takes 3 to 10 business days. Start that today so the first real cadence can text.
