Plans and billing
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. Single is one person and 15 quotes a month, for as long as you like. No card to sign up.
Do we sign a contract?
Monthly plans cancel any time from Settings. Annual plans are paid up front and renew once a year; we email you 30 days before.
What if we have seasonal staff?
Add seats for the busy months and remove them after. Monthly seats are prorated by the day.
Do you charge for texts?
Each paid seat includes 500 text segments a month, pooled across the company. Past that it's 2¢ a segment, listed line by line on the invoice.
Texting and email
Will texts come from our own number?
Yes. We register a local number for your company, or text-enable the landline you have. Calls keep ringing where they ring now.
What happens when a customer replies?
The reply lands in Carbonset and on the rep's phone, and follow-up for that quote pauses. Nobody gets a robot answer.
Can customers opt out?
Yes. Replying STOP ends texts from your company on every quote, right away. Emails carry an unsubscribe link that does the same for email.
When do texts go out?
Only between 8:00 and 21:00 in your customer's time zone. A step scheduled outside that window waits for 8:00.
Your customers' data
Who owns the customer list?
You do. Export every customer, quote and event as CSV any time, and for 30 days after you cancel.
Do you sell or share it?
No. We don't sell data and we don't run ads. The privacy policy lists our subprocessors by category, and we name each company on request.
Where is it stored?
In the United States, encrypted at rest and in transit.
Do customers know we see their opens?
The quote footer says the link tells you when it's opened. We think that's fair to say out loud.
Switching
We already use a field-service app. Do we need both?
Maybe not. If yours sends quotes but doesn't follow up, Carbonset can take quotes in by CSV or the API and run the follow-up. Call us and we'll tell you straight.
How long does setup take?
Most shops send their first quote on day one. The price book import and texting registration take the rest of the week.
Can we bring open quotes over?
Yes. Send a CSV with customer, total, sent date and status. We put them on the board and start follow-up where it still makes sense.
Does it work for commercial bids?
Yes. Use the Commercial bid cadence, add up to three contacts, and set the quote to expire on the bid date.
