Hand won jobs to accounting
Connect your books once. Every paid quote becomes a customer, an invoice and a payment, with the lines you wrote.
Friday afternoon used to mean retyping the week's signed quotes into the books. The handoff does it the minute a deposit is paid, with the line items named the way you named them.
Connect
Open Settings, then Accounting, and pick your accounting software from the list. You approve access on your accounting software's own page. We never see your accounting password, and you can disconnect from either side at any time.
Mapping
Match each price book category to an income account once: Equipment to equipment sales, Labor to service income, and so on. Tax codes come from your books, not from us, so your bookkeeper's settings stay in charge.
What we create, and when
| Record | Created | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Customer | On Paid | Only if no customer with that name and email exists |
| Invoice | On Paid, or on Signed if you choose | Same lines, quantities and prices as the signed option |
| Payment | On Paid | The deposit, linked to the invoice |
For quote 001036, Samira H. paid a $3,480.00 deposit on an $11,600.00 job at 8:50 pm. At 8:51 pm her customer record, invoice INV-2291 and payment PMT-0841 were in the books, with a balance of $8,120.00 showing on the invoice.
The handoff log
Every record we create is listed under Settings, then Accounting, with the time and its ID in your books. If something fails, usually an income account that was renamed, the row says why and has a Retry button. Nothing is created twice.
Bookkeeper on a different schedule? Choose On Signed and invoices land as soon as a quote is signed, with the deposit payment following when it clears.
Desktop accounting
If your books live on one computer in the office, connect nothing. Carbonset emails a CSV of the day's paid quotes every evening at 18:00, formatted to import in one step.
