Terms of service

Effective September 1, 2026

The agreement between Carbonset and the businesses that use it, in plain English. Ten clauses, about five minutes.

Clauses

1 The service

Carbonset lets your business build quotes, send them by text and email, see when they are opened, follow up on a schedule, take signatures and deposits, and hand paid jobs to your accounting software. These terms apply when you create an account or use the service. If you use it for a company, you agree for that company.

2 Accounts and seats

A paid seat is anyone who can send a quote or change a price. Field seats, for team members who only take photos, add notes and draft quotes, are free on paid plans. Keep your team list current and remove people when they leave. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3 Texting rules you agree to

Only text customers who gave you their number for the job you are quoting. No marketing blasts and no purchased lists. Honor every opt-out. You will register your texting number with the carriers before texts send. We may pause texting on an account that draws carrier complaints, and we will call you before we do.

4 Fees, payments and processing

Plans are billed per seat, monthly or annually, at the prices on the pricing page. Texts past the included amount cost 2 cents per segment. Deposits are processed by our payments processor under its own terms; its fees are paid to it, and Carbonset adds nothing. Annual plans are paid up front and renew yearly; we email you 30 days before.

5 Your data stays yours

You own your account data and your customers' details. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you. You can export it at any time and for 30 days after you cancel. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train anything or to market to your customers.

6 Availability and maintenance

We aim to keep Carbonset running around the clock. Planned maintenance happens on Sunday nights, announced by email at least 48 hours ahead, and scheduled follow-up that falls inside a maintenance window goes out when it ends. If something breaks, we post updates and call affected accounts on Triplicate.

7 Ending the agreement

Monthly plans cancel any time from Settings, effective at the end of the month you have paid for. Annual plans run to the end of the year paid for. Export your data before you go; it stays available for 30 days. We may end an account that breaks the texting rules after a warning, or at once for fraud.

8 Limits of liability

We work hard to send every step on time, but we cannot promise a customer will read, sign or pay. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Neither side is liable for lost profits or indirect losses.

9 Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. If we disagree, call us first; most problems end there. If not, disputes go to the state or federal courts in Queens County, New York, and both sides agree to that location.
