Compare · quote follow-up software for trades and shops
Carbonset next to what you use now.
Most shops come to us from a spreadsheet tab or from a field-service app that sends quotes but doesn't chase them. Here is the plain comparison, including when you shouldn't buy us.
Three ways to run follow-up.
| What | The FOLLOW UP tab | Carbonset | A full field-service suite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sending the quote | You email a PDF when you get back to the office. | Text and email in one tap, from the truck, with your logo and terms. | Usually email, from the office, after the job is entered. |
| Knowing it was opened | You don't. | Every open, on what kind of device and for how long, on the board. | Sometimes, from an email pixel that fires when the mail app loads. |
| Following up | When someone remembers to look at the tab. | On the days you set, until they sign, reply or say no. Texts wait for 8:00. | Often one reminder email, the same for every job. |
| Signature and deposit | Paper, a check, and a trip back. | In one sitting on the customer's phone, by card or bank transfer. | Usually, often as a paid add-on. |
| Scheduling and dispatch | A wall calendar. | No. We put call tasks and install dates on your calendar and hand paid jobs to your books. | Yes. This is what a full suite is for. |
| Setup | Already there. | A day. Most shops send their first quote on day one. | Weeks, often with paid onboarding. |
| Price | Free. | $0 for one person, then $39 or $69 per office seat a month. Techs ride free. | Usually per tech, plus modules. |
We don't name other products. If you want a straight answer about the one you use, call (718) 555-0147.
When Carbonset is the wrong fit.
Buy a field-service suite. If it sends quotes but doesn't follow up, Carbonset can run beside it: bring quotes in by CSV or the API and we do the chasing.
A repair ticket that is paid before you leave needs no follow-up. Keep it on paper and call us when the bigger jobs start piling up.
Keep doing it. If that changes, Single is free for one person and fifteen quotes a month.
Moving off the spreadsheet.
- 1Send us the tabCustomer, total, sent date and status. Messy is fine.
- 2We load your open quotesThey land on the board in the right column, so nothing starts from zero.
- 3Follow-up starts where it makes senseA quote sent three weeks ago gets a call task, not a day 2 text.
Bring the spreadsheet. We'll load it.
Start on the free plan, then send us the tab. Your open quotes are on the board by the end of the week.
