A wright is a maker. Ferro is iron.
Ferrowright started in 1987 as two tool-and-die makers, a shear and two manual mills in a 2,400 sq ft rented bay in the Hauppauge Industrial Park. The first CNC mill came in 1994, the first laser in 1998, the move to 180 Kerf Court in 2011. It is 40 people and 16 machines now, two shifts, still in the park.

Material goes in one dock and out the other.
Sheet comes off the truck at dock 1, waits on the rack with its cert, and moves left to right through cutting, forming, finishing and the measuring room before it leaves from dock 2.

Six rules on the wall by the time clock.
- We quote what we can hold.
If a tolerance needs a process we do not own, the quote says so and names the step.
- The traveler goes with the part.
Every operation signs it, with the time and the machine.
- First part, then the lot.
Nothing runs past the first piece until it measures.
- Material is traceable to the heat.
Every lot has its cert before it is cut.
- We call on the day we know.
A late lot gets a phone call the day the date slips, not the day it was due.
- Gauges are calibrated or tagged out.
A gauge past its due date goes in the drawer with a red tag.
