The meadow was a pasture until the 1970s and has been mowed twice a year since. It falls nine feet from the north-east corner to the south-west, about one foot in twenty: enough for a walk-out lower level on the downhill side, not enough to need retaining walls. Morning sun comes across the field from the east. The woods on the west edge hold back the late afternoon light in summer.
- A dry-stone wall along the north line, about 140 ft long. Worth keeping.
- A sugar maple on the north-east line, about 30 in across. We would site the house to keep its roots clear.
- Two old fence lines, wire only. They come out.
- A low spot near the road that holds water after a storm. The driveway goes around it.
- No ledge, no fill. The test pit went cleanly to 14 ft.
Three houses on this lot.
