Can it wait until morning?

Often, yes. One vomit and then normal, a small cut that has stopped bleeding, a limp but still eating: call in the morning and we will fit you in. Two sick-visit times are held every weeknight evening, at 6:00 and 7:30.

Questions

What if it is after 9 pm?

Call (631) 555-0163. A licensed veterinary technician answers from 9 pm to 8 am, from 2 pm Saturday, and all day Sunday, and tells you whether to go to a 24-hour emergency hospital tonight or come to us in the morning.

Do you handle emergencies?

During open hours, we see urgent problems the same day and stabilize emergencies before transfer. We have no overnight staff, so overnight care goes to a 24-hour hospital.

What counts as an emergency?

Trouble breathing, collapse, heavy bleeding, a seizure longer than 3 minutes, a dog retching with nothing coming up and a swollen belly, a male cat straining to pee, or anything poisonous eaten. Call first. Do not book online.

Do you do home visits?

For end-of-life care, yes: seven days a week by arrangement, within 15 miles. We do not do routine visits at home.
