Book a visit

More time per visit, and a second door.

Lanternwood opened in 2019 in a former dentist’s office on Quillmere Lane, a few minutes up from the harbor.

The lantern lit over the side door, where cats come in.

Dr. Maren had spent nine years at a busy hospital where most visits were fifteen minutes long and cats waited next to barking dogs. She wanted more time per visit and a second door.

Dr. Ellis joined in 2021, the year we split the building and built the cat ward. The lantern over the side door went up the same month. It is lit whenever the cat ward is open.

How we work.

  1. Time. Every regular vet visit is at least 30 minutes.
  2. Two doors. Cats never share a room or the air with dogs.
  3. The price first. A range on the site, an estimate in the room.
  4. Evenings. Open until 9, because most people work until 5.
  5. Goodbyes at home. We come to you, seven days a week.

Who you will meet.

Two vets, two licensed technicians, an assistant, and two people at the front desk. The shifts overlap so the building stays open until 9.

The clinic at dusk from Quillmere Lane: the plum front door on the right, and the side door under the lit lantern on the left.
Open until 9

Why evenings.

Most clinics close when most people finish work. We stagger two vets so the building is open from 8 in the morning to 9 at night, and the last visits start at 8:30.
