CARE GUIDE 03 OF 04

Oiled walnut: once a year.

A damp cloth every day, a thin coat of oil each spring.

A hand rubbing hard oil into a walnut board with a cotton cloth

01

What it is.

Walnut finished with a hard oil that cures in the wood, not on top of it. You can repair it at the kitchen table.

02

Every day.

Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry it. Coasters under hot mugs.

03

Once in a while.

When water stops beading, oil it: a thin coat on a cotton cloth, wipe off everything after 15 minutes, leave it 24 hours.

04

Don’t.

No silicone polish and no all-purpose spray. They leave a film the next coat of oil won’t stick to. Lay oily cloths flat to dry outside before you throw them away.

05

If something goes wrong.

White rings: oil and 0000 steel wool, with the grain. A loose peg: write to us and we send a new one.
