FROM THE KILN

Pottery, fired a small batch at a time.

We fire the kiln about every eight weeks, 18 to 30 pieces at a time, each one thrown by hand. When a batch sells out, that’s it until the next one. Every pot is marked underneath with the number of the firing it came from.

FROM THE BENCH

Furniture, built when you order it.

Walnut and white oak, held together with wooden pegs instead of screws, finished with oil or soap. You pay half to start, and in the first week we send a photo of the boards we’ve chosen for you. The rest is due when it’s ready to deliver.

GOOD TO KNOW

After it’s home.

The answers people look for once they’ve ordered, without digging for them.

ASKED MOST

Dishwasher?

Plates, bowls, mugs and cups: yes, on a normal cycle. Vessels, jars and anything with a raw rim: by hand.

What can I return?

Ceramics: within 14 days of delivery, unused, in the original box. We refund the piece; return postage is yours. Ready-made furniture: 14 days, return freight yours. Made-to-order furniture can’t be returned, but anything we built wrong, we fix.

Why a 50% deposit?

We buy and cut the boards for your piece in the first week. The deposit pays for the wood and the first half of the hours. The balance is charged when the piece is crated, before it leaves.

Can I see the kiln?

When it’s cool, yes. On a release Saturday the shop opens at 10:00 and the kiln door stays open until noon.
