CARE GUIDE 04 OF 04

Soaped white oak: wash it like a floor.

Soap flakes and hot water, every few months.

Pale soaped white oak at the wedged joint of the trestle table

01

What it is.

White oak finished with soap flakes and water. It stays pale and matte.

02

Every day.

Wipe with a damp cloth.

03

Once in a while.

Every few months, more often on a tabletop: whisk two tablespoons of soap flakes into a litre of hot water, wipe the foam on with the grain, let it dry.

04

Don’t.

No oil on a soap finish; it yellows the oak. Wipe up red wine and coffee straight away.

05

If something goes wrong.

Stains sand out with 240 grit; re-soap after. Or bring it in and we do it at cost.
